As his sixth grandchild of seven, these are just a few of the things I remember most about Papa: - he always offered to sing "a few bars from" some old song or other ('Slap That Bass' being one of them); - he recently asked my boyfriend "are your parents from The Punjaaaab?" which caused much amusement; - he wrote our names in pencil on our breakfast boiled eggs (with soldiers of course).
